Public Square

The Public Square is an East African-based think tank and civil society organisation. We harness ideas to organise people, foster debate, and mobilise intellectual capital to improve our social-political condition.

Despite having one of the youngest populations in the world, the region has consistently registered the lowest levels of citizen participation in the social-political questions of the day. We aim to combat political apathy and disinterest by fostering civic engagement through political education, community engagement and fighting disinformation. 

 

We are deeply engaged in the region's social-political scene focusing on four thematic areas; Public Accountability, Climate Change and Energy Transition, Civic education, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.
